I stumbled upon this from churchrelevance.com. Granted, a church logo isn’t on the same category as a statement of faith or a philosophy of ministry, but they can serve a church by creating a memorable and favorable image or perception. From my perspective, it’s always easier to spot a poor logo than it is a [...]

I really like these guys. I like spending [...]
Advice for a new planter

A new planter asked for advice. He wanted to know what to keep his eyes on as he launches this new work. Thinking back, here are a few of my first thoughts:
• Get a coach;
• Lead;
• Think of yourself as a benevolent dictator in the early days;
• Raise additional support;
• Spend it all (trust God for tomorrow);
• Don’t give away titles [...]

I get asked from time to time, “What makes a great church planter?” There are a number of building blocks that assessors look for. Most assessment centers have used the work of Dr Ridley’s “13 Essential Characteristics of a Successful Church Planter” as a backdrop for the indicators they look for.
